ALLEGED PERJURY.

ASHBURTON, last night. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day William Gillott, a police constable, was committed for trial on a charge of perjury. The offence was alleged to have been committed when Gillott wa3 giving evidence in a sly-grog case, in which the informant (Thomas Sutherland) was convicted, and fined £lO and costs.'
