FOOTBALL.
The third grade football matches under the auspices of the Rugby Union commence at Victoria Domain next Saturday, when Kaiti City meet West End. Mr. J. J. Martin will act as referee. The third "rade match starts at 1.30 p.m. The following are the teams : West End: H. Hepburn, A. Sawyer, V. Oman, N. Bright, K. Nasmith, E. Whitfield, E. Roach, P. Muldoon, Wi, V. Peterson, W. Whitfield, M. Weir, W. Smith, Turoa, Muldoon. Emergencies: R. Ford, L. Ensor. Kaiti City: G. Pollock, Wyllie, Houston, Anderson, Cramp, L. Bright, J. Lang, E. Little, N. Marlow, B. Williams, J. Bright, P. Hickoy, L. Nicolas, J. O’Neill, A. Merritt Emergencies: Butterworth, Morrow, Liddle. The Poverty Bay Referees’ Association held their weekly meeting last evening at the Royal Hotel. Mr. J. J. Martin was elected chairman. A letter was received from tho Butchers and Bakers, asking that a referee be appointed. Their request was acceded to, Mr. W. Hay being appointed. The referees for Saturday’s matches will be: —Senior match, Mr. R. G. Hallamore; Junior, Mr. W. Howard; Third Grade, Mr. J. J. Martin. Mr. H .Carr was elected emergency referee.
