NELSON LAUNCH ACCIDENT.
Press Association. NhILSON, yesterday. Further particulars concerning tho fire on the old launch and tlio drownof three Maoris, show that tho fire was caused through a lantern being dropped. Rene Tewlictu pluckil-, endeavored to extinguish the flames with his coat, and Maheno fell overboard while hastening to assist, and somo of the others jumped overboard Aperahama lowhetu was di owned while trying to save his wile, and their little son Moln was also di owned, as well as Mrs. Renata, an elderly woman. There wore eleven persons in the launch and eight were saved.
