POUAWA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Juno 13.
Tho jjloasant weather experienced hero for tho last ton days or so has boon a strong contrast to tho almost unprecedented time wo hud of it during nearly the whole of May. Tho roads in the district got badly cut up, and even now thoy are far from satisfactory. However, they aro hardening rapidly in the higher portions, but on any clay formation tlioy have attained that adhesive consistency which is very difficult to negotiate. All stock work has at last been got through for the season, tho last of the crutching . boing finished this week, so from now until docking time flocks will be very little disturbed, an occasional change of paddocks boing perhaps the only exception. Stock are looking and doing exceptionally well, and consequently aro in good form to meet tho hardest months of tho year. Mr. Fraser’s new house is now finished, and forms ouite a prominent addition to the general aspect. Tlio building is comfortably situated about two hundred yards further up tlio valley than the old dwelling'which has served .Mr. Fraser so. long. The new house is a spacious ono, containing as it does ten rooms, with every modern improvement and convenience. .Tho kitchen is fitted with a patent range with high pressure boiler, hot and cold water boing laid on to both sctillory and bath-room. May Mr. Fraser and his family have every comfort in their new home and long life to enjoy it 1
