TANNER’S ARK.
ARRIVES SAFELY AT TIM ARC
Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday.. There is no news to date concerning the whereabouts of Tanner’s ark, which left Sumner for Timam on June 4th. The five men who accompanied, Tanner are stated to be inexperienced sailors, and it is also al leged that the provisions on board wire sufficient to last the crew for 'three days only. Tlio s.s. ICaipara, which arrived at Lyttelton at 10 a.in. to-day, passed what in the dark seemed to he a small sailing vessel at 2 o’clock this morning. XIMARU, yesterday.
Tanner’s ark, which has been ten days out from Lyttelton, arrived here shortly before 11 o’clock to-day. No mishap was met with, the boat merely being delayed by fog and through lack of a breeze, All l ands on board are well. They ate the last of their provisions this morning. .-
