MARITIME MISHAPS.

The barque Serena, bound from Melbourne to Queenstown, during a gale on March 18 bad four of her crow washed overboard and drowned. The captain, at the risk of his life, was chiefly instrumental iu rescuing two others who were holding on to.a rope in icy water at the ship’s side. MELBOURNE, June 11.
The barque Eagle Crag, on a voyage from Liverpool, narrowly escaped destruction by fire caused by a lurch of the vessel upsetting a lamp in the sail locker on April 13th. The fire spread with alarming rapidity.Holes were cut in the deck and water poured in, which finally extinguished the flames.
NEW YORK, Juno 10,
The barque Alexandra, bound from Newcastle to Panama, being short of provisions, was abandoned, on May Bth. The vessel is undamaged. The first officer and part of the crew lauded at Guayaquil, Ecuador.’ Tha whereabouts of the remainder of the crew is unknown.

The schooner La Jalouse from Cayenne for St. Lucia was swamped‘and capsized off Barbadoes. Twenty-one were landed. Twenty-eight passengers were drowned, including twelve women and children. -
