The Department of Industries and Commerce has received a cable from the High Commissioner, dated June Bth, stating that tho upward movement in the mutton market seems to -have been arrested._ There aro only small stocks of Canterbury oil hand, and there is no change in price to report. Tho lamb market is steady. A good demand continues. Prices are firm and unchanged. The beef market remains firm. Supplies are decreasing. Hindquarters aro at 4d, forequarters 3id.' The butter market is steady, with a good demand for choicest brands. Choicest Now Zealand is at 99s per ewt. The cheese market is quiet. Prices are slightly weaker. White manufacture is at 665, colored G4s. The hemp market is quiet and only a small business is doing. There is only a small quantity of good fair grade on hand, but there . is no chaugo in price to report since last week. Tho cocksfoot seed market iF’quiet,' with small business doing.
