Mr. G. H. Morgan, manager for the Union Company at New Plymouth, has accepted the position of manager for the company at Suva. Mr. M. ltudd, manager at Blenheim, is to be transferred to New Plymouth. - Mr. E. V. Turnbull, who recently returned from British New Guinea, where ho was engaged as a mining manager, has been elected out of 15 applicants for the position of manager of tho Waihi Beach Gold-mining Company. Mr. Kcir Hardie is shortly visiting Australia to study the labor question. Mr. W. Morgan left by the Haupiri last evening to attend tho Education Board meeting at Napier. He intends, accompanied by his wife, proceeding on to Palmerston North, and will return at the week end. Miss Newman, of Ormond, and her brother, Mr. L. Newman, took their departure on Saturday for Vancouver. Mr. Newman is in quest of Canadian experience, and his sister is engaged to marry Mr. Frank Hutchinson, formerly of this district, and now farming in. Manitoba. Mr. C. F. Lewis, the District Valuer, lias just completed an extended trip round the district. Mr. Lockie, of the local postal is to replace? Mr. Harris at Tokomaru. The latter is undci , transfer to Nelson. Mr. W. A. Barton leaves on AVed- . nesday to hold the Coast sitting of tho Magistrate’s Court. Tho date . for the Tolaga sitting is the 13tli, Waipiro 15tli, and Port Awanui 17tli. Constable Pratt, who lias been ? transferred here from Rotorua, ar- , rived last night by the Talune.
