There was a fair atendanee at the annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Farmers’ Union Club on Saturday, Mr. F. Holden (President). in the ..•hair. -s '. - The financial statement showed receipts (including £l7 Is 7d credit balance on March* 31, 1906), £B4 16s 6d, the principal items being 94 subscriptions at 10s 6d £49 7s, donations £l6 6s 6d, six firms at 3 guineas each £lB 18s'.’ Rent accounted mainly for the expeniture, £167 Is 7d. Mr. Lysnar, in, moving the adoption of the balance-sheet, explained that the total liabilities amounted to £llO 15s 6d, against which there was £53 8s 6d in hand. In addition there were subscriptions in the books amounting to about £IOO. The Committee had gone carefully through the list and estimated that £56 3s 6d of this .amount; was good and collectable, making the total assets £lO9 12s 6d. Whatever surplus there was over this ;um would be available for the "Union funds. When the outstanding money was collected the finances would be in i good position. The secretary mentioned that about SHO., old subscriptions, was due to the Union. ' Mr. Cameron, in seconding, thought the position satisfactory. The bal-ance-sheet was adopted and accounts were passed for payment. The election of officers resulted: — President,, Mr. Holden (re-elected) ; Vice-President, Mr. W. D. Lysnar; Committee, Messrs. W. Bell, Bin-ell, C J. Parker, D. McLauglilan, O. Galloher, E. Cameron, A. J. Cameron, J A Nicol, D. Dinan, J. Candy, F. Lysnar and Langford; secretary, Mr. If S. des Barres (re-appointed), combating his tormentor
