THE NEW HEBRIDES.
DISTINCT ADMINISTRATIONS. United Press Association —Copyrigl t PARIS, June 6. The Paris newspaper La Journal says the negotiations between France and England respecting the New Hebrides have resulted in the French and British administrations being made distinct. Certain secondary services will be conducted jointly. The Journal adds that the exchange of Sierra Leone for the Now Hebrides was found to be impracticable. BRITISH LOAN REFUSED. EMPLOYMENT OF CHILDREN. Received June 7, 10.36 p.m. LONDON, June 7. In the House of Commons Captain Craig asked whether the Government would guarantee a loan to develop the British interest in the New Hebrides, provided the islanders consented to the deletion of the clauses of the Anglo-French Convention relating to the employment of children from sunrise to sunset with only one hour’s rest.
Mr. Asquith replied in the nega tive.
