THE SCHOOL BATHS.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting to further the arrangements in connection with the school baths social was held at the Borough Council Chambers last evening, the Mayor (Mr, J. Townley) presiding. There was a good attendance, indicating that the project of providing baths for the school children is meeting with influential support. The secretary, who had been deputed to arrange if possible for the use of the N.Z. Shipping Co.’s wool shed, reported that Mr. Hallamoro was agreeable to its utilisation if available at the time, Sub-committees were appointed to flcal with the special details, the conveners being:—Supper committee, Mr. W. Edwards; ladies’ committee, Mrs. Townley; floor committee, Mr. W. Webb; refreshment cong mittec, Mr, G- ]}, Oman ; decoration committee, Mr. H. Withers; programme committee, Mr. W. Miller; lighting, Mr. J. Townley; advertising. Mr. Rowley. The secretaries (Messrs. ,J. S. Wnucliop and J. Little) were instructed to interview the Gisborne City Hand and Miss Moore with reference to the music. After general discussion the meeting adjourned for a fortnight.
