PEKIN, June 3.
The rebels have been defeated between Amoyo and Watow. Seven hundred were killed. Two thousand drilled troops have reached Swatow. The trouble arises from the failure of the officials to distribute food in the famine districts.
Tlio British and American fleets are concentrating at Pa’khoi and other ports in Southern China to prevent the trouble spreading.
