AUCKLAND, yesterday
The dead body of a man was found •n the harbor at Devonport, His age is about 65 years. There is no cluo to identity, except a handkerchief marked “C. Kasper.” AUCKLAND, last night.
Two deaths occurred on board tlic Navua on her last trip from Auckland. A few hours before the steamer’s arrival at Apia, a New Zealand squatter named Shields died. It is reported that he was subject to epilepsy. Next morning at 6 o’clock Mr. J. Bach, who was returning to Samoa, died suddenly, death being due to heart failure. rSoth bodies were buried in the Apia cemetery. TAIHAPE, yesterday.
A fatal accident occurred near Waiouru last night. Geo. Forsyth, inspector of tho lino, was riding on a ballast engine, when a sudden lurch threw him out, tho wheel passing over his left leg, practically severing the limb. A - special train brought the injured man to Taihape, where 1 died at midnight. DUNEDIN, yesterday. At' the inquest on Annie Cunningham, widow, of Leith Valley, a verdict of death from an apoplectic fit was returned.
