E.C.M.R. CAMP
The East Coast Mounted Rifles went into camp yesterday afternoon at the Park Racecourse for their annual encampment, Captain Tombkson being in charge of the corps. Lieutenant Evans was the orderly officer for the day.. He was assisted by Sergeant Eaii'lie and Corporal McCullough. The orderly officer for to-day will be Lieutenant Hamilton, assisted by Sergeant Hinder and Corporal Barlow. The grounds yesterday presented ah animated appearance, the men being busily engaged in erecting their tents and horse lines.
The camp will be inspected by Col. Davis, Inspector-General of the New Zealand Forces, accompanied by Lieut.-Colonel Baucliop, officer commanding tlio Wellington district, this afternoon, in squadron movements. To-morrow the corps will proceed to Repongaere, Mr. W. K. Chambers property, with Col. Davis, to put in a day’s field work. Should the weather keep fine the men should have a most enjoyable and instructive encampment.
