AUCKLAND PLAGUE SCARE

AUCKLAND, May 21
Dr. Mason, Chief Health Officer, arrived to-day. In connection with the two suspicious deaths, it is now-de-finitely announced hero that tho deaths were due to plague. Speaking to a Herald reporter to-night the doctor said tho cases appeared to bo merely isolated instances, and there was no cause for alarm. He added Chat the City Council’s cleansing methods were admirable.
