The Wanganui Gun Club meeting commenced to-day in beautiful weather. There were record entries—-thirty-eight. The Sliootists’ Match for £IOO, was divided between Oates, ivimber, and Redwood, who killed the maximum of 1-1-birds each. Eleven ied for fourth place, killing thirteen birds each, the following dividing:— Harrison, Knuckley, "Christoffell, T, A. Bamber, Falconer, Partita, Bayley* G. D. McKenzie, and Beard. Tomorrow the championship of New Zealand will take place, 38 sliootists having entered. WANGANUI,, last night.
The Gun Club championship of New Zealand was decided here today, under favorable weather conditions. Thirty-nine competed, including the best marksmen in the colony, and the management was excellent. Whittle, Eccles, Fraser, McKay, and Seccombe tied with 20 kills. In the slioot-off Seccombe won from Fraser on the thirty-seventh round.
