ANDREW MACK

The next attraction at His Majesty’s Theatre will be the appearance of Mr. Andrew Mack. . The “star” is a tenor singer and actor of high repute in the United States. Two years ago when Mr. J. C. AVilliamson first brought this artist to Australia, he met with such enormous success that his whole engagement was practically devoted to Melbourne and Sydney. The vast theatres were nightly crowded to witness the performance of this eminent comedian.

The characters Mr. Mack has made especially liis own are those of quiet vgenial and refined Irishmen —as distinguished from tho shillolah-flourish-ing, “begorra” variety that have been moro generally—perhaps too generally—seen on tlie stage. . The opening production will b “Tom Moore,” a play founded on the life of the famous poet, and his second attraction will be “The Way t( Kenmare,” a play of equally successful popularity. His farewell appearance will be in that gem of Irish romance, “Jack Shannon.” As these pieces require actors of ability accustomed to the Irish dialect, he lias brought a complete company from America to support him.

Air. Andrew Mack’s season will be limited to three nights only, commencing on Monday evening next, and the box plans for tlie three plays will be opened at Miller’s on Thursday (to-morrow) morning.
