Press Association. THE “SOCCER” GAME. WELLINGTON, yesterday. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Football Association (soccer), the secretary was instructed to endeavor to arrange for a team from New South Wales to tour the colony this year. Oil the question of a visit from an English team, a proposal was mooted to combine with the Cricket Council to bring out a team of ..cricketers and footballers. Eventually it was decided. to communicate with the Council, and also with the Owen’s Park, Aston Villa, and Everton Clubs on the subject. Lord Plunket was elected patron, the Premier president, Mr. Nagle (Otago) treasurer. The election of vice-presidents was held over. W-AIROA SUB-UNION. WELLINGTON, last night. At a meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union to-night a letter was received from the Hawke’s Bay Union protesting against' the Vairoa Sub-Union being attached to the Poverty Bay Union. Consideration of the matter was deferred for a week. It was decided that for the North v. South Island match, seventeen men be picked for each team, allowing an emergency back and forward-. For the New Zealand team to visit Australia it was decided to scud 22 men.
