CRICKET.
A general meeting of the. Wanderers Cricket Club was held ill the British Empire Hotel on Tuesday, Mr. G. B. Oman being in the chair. The business of the meeting was to receive the annual report and balance-sheet, which showed that tlie Club, after payment of liabilities, had a small credit balance. The position was considered most satisfactory, as the Club has only a -.small members’ roll, and cricket requires a much lieaviei outlay than the kindred games of hockey and football. After discussion the report and balance-sheet were unanimously adopted. This concluded the ordinary business, but a general discussion ensued respecting the upkeep of the ground, which will be greater than in past seasons owing to the fact that a turf pitch has been laid down. After hearing suggestions from the members, it was resolved: “That it be a recommendation to the Poverty Bay Cricket Association that each player in each match under the jurisdiction of that body contribute the sum of one shilling, the amount derived to be devoted towards a ground fund and the upkeep of the ground.” Votes of thanks to the Chairman and Secretary closed the meeting.
