(Per. Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, yesterday. Mr. Okey has been deluged with congratulations from all parts of the colony. His victory is generally regarded as a serious blow to tho Land

An analysis of yesterday’s poll figures shows that 4628 votes were polled against 5160 at the general election when four Liberal candidates polled 2584 town and suburban votes, and 897 in the country to the Opposition’s 818 and 860. On this occasion the two Government candidates polled 2124 town votes, and 513 country, and' tho Opposition 1015 town votes and 976 country'.
