“THE FATAL WEDDING.”

HIS MAJESTY'S TO-NIGHT.

With tho advent of “The Fatal Wedding” at His Majesty’s, starting to-night, play-goers will have an opportunity of witnessing one of tho most remarkable successes of recent years. The principal parts in tonights performance will bo lillod by Miss May Congdon (who will sustain her original part of Mabel Wilson), a'nd Mr. James .Lindsay (who will bo seen in tho role of Howard Wilson;, Other characters will bo lillod by Misses Dina Cooper, Amy Singleton, and others. The role of Jessie, “tho little Mother,” will be enacted by little iVLaisio Posner. Amongst tho features of the play are the famous “Tin Can Hand” of little folk, and the specialities of tho children in the third act. The production will bo staged in its entiroty, including tho scenic sto dies representing the hut on the pallisades, the Hudson River by moonlight, and the exterior of Grace Church, New York. The music, which was specially composed for the play, is said to he of a most original character. Tho orchestra will bo under the baton of Mr. Wynne Jones. “The Fatal Wedding” will bo repeated on Saturday with entirely fresh novelties in tho children’s scene. On Monday and Tuesday the great romantic military play “The Midnight Wedding,” will he presented. “Tho Midnight Wedding” is just such a play as tho public love. It is interesting from the moment the curtain goes up till it falls on the iinal scene. Humor it has in full measure—broad, rollicking humor, which compels laughter—yet it is not allowed to check the action of the play, and is kept subordinate to the chief interest, which centres in the fortunes of “Paid Valmnr, Swordmnstor of tho Red Hussars,” and “Princess Astroa von Strclsburg.”
