A Press Association telegram from Blenheim states that His Excellency A’ice-Admiral Sir AVilmot Fawkes, commandant oF the Australasian squadron, has accepted the invitation of the Marlborough Pacing Club to attend its meeting on AA r ednesday and Thursday next. The Bov. L. Dawson Thomas and Airs. Thomas returned to Gisborne on Saturday morning per the Zealandio, after an enjoyable holiday in Sy_»voy. Mr. E. Ballantyne, of the T. and G. Mutual Life Assurance arrived by the Zealandia, on Saturday morning, on a visit of of inspection. Mr. A. A. Bethuno, of the Audit Department, is at present in Gisborne. The death occurred at 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon of Air. G.®3. Anderson, engineer of the Tuatesi, after a long and painful illness. Deceased; was a native of Glasgow, and came to the colony about seven years ago. He was employed as third engineer on the Alokoia, and when the Tuatea was built he joined that vessel. Deceased leaves a wife and a little boy, aged 4. A Press Association telegram from ■Auckland states that the Hon. J. A. Millar, who arrived from Thames on Saturday afternoon, leaves for AVhangarei on Monday evening. He will be banqueted in Auckland next Friday evening, and expects to leave for Wellington on Saturday. Captain Humming went South by the Moura last night. His Lordship the Bishop of AA raiapu left for Napier last night. The Pev. H. N. AVright left by tlic Moura last evening on a holiday.
