SAN FRANCISCO MAILS.

To the Editor of the Times

Dear Sir,—l notice that the postal authorities have just received word that the balance of mails sent by Sononio (?) via Auckland on 21st March arrived in London on the Ist instant in lieu of 20th April, due date. AVhat I want to know is why one portion arrived early and tlie balance later? The only tiling I can surmise is a portion of the mails was delayed on the American railroads.
