TECHNICAL SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the technical school committee was held last night. For the information of the new members of the committee the secretary gave an interesting history of the technical classes since their
inception. The Secretary reported that ho had received a series of eleven -photographs of New Zealand scenery from the Tourist Department. These photographs will be suitably framed and placed in the art room. Air. Morgan also acknowledged receipt of a cabinet of specimens of grasses and grass seeds from Messrs. Sutton and Sons, England. Aliss L. Beere tendered her resignation as instructor of shorthand. It was decided to call for applications for the position of instructor of shrorthand and typewriting. It was decided to establish a special class in connection with the art school and to call a meeting of intending students and to arrange for engagement of instructor.
A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Tourist Department and to Alessrs. Sutton and Sons and to Messrs. AVilliams and Kettle lor conveyance of Sutton and Son’s cabinet of seeds free to Gisborne.
