There was a good attendance, and the sum of £8669 was put through the machines, against £3286 on the corressponding day last year, an increase of £3286. Results: Maiden Plate, of 50 sovs, six furlongs—St. Cyren 1, Bara Jingliss 2, Field Marshall 3. Scratched—Freehird and Poultawa. AVon by half a length. Time, 1.19 2-5. Divs, £27 16s and £2 2s.
Hurdle Race, of 70 sovs, two miles —Landlock 1, Bonomiana 2, Lock Fyne 3. Other startor —Fabricator. Won by .two lengths. Time, 3.521. Iliv, £3 10s. Oakley Handicap, of 50 sovs, five furlongs—Kola Nip 1, Waitati 2, Duart 3. Scratched—Aristocrat and :Manapoiuri.i Won by a length. Time, 1.4. Divs, on Kola Nip and Lady Cressy who were bracketed £4 4s 9d, on Waitati £l. Juvenile Handicap, for two year olds, of 6C sovs, five furlongs—Haldane 1, Advocate 2, Quadroon 3. All started. Won. by half a length. Time 1.4 2-5. Divs, £2 6s and £3 10s. Avondale Handicap, of 175 sovs, one mile and a quarter—Carl Rosa 1, Uhlander 2, Lord Seaton 3. Scratched —Akarana, Sir Gilead. AVon comfortably by three lengths. Time, 2.11 1-5. Divs, £5 10s and £l. Pony Handicap, of 40. . sovs, five furlongs—AVaihou 1, Storyteller 2, Octoroon 3. All started. Won easily. Time, 1.4 4-5. Divs, £7 16s and £l. Chevalier Handicap, of 50 sovs, 4 furlongs—Celerity 1 Turbine 2, Klondyke 3.
