MAT AW HERO STOCK SALES. There was a fair attendance at the I Mata where stock sales which were I held yesterday. Messrs. Common, I Shelton and Co. and Dalgely and Co. I commenced to sell at 11 o clock with I a yarding of about 1900 sheep. J I sale went well from the start, all the I varding being cleared under the ham- 1 incr with brisk competition. Seventyeight fat wethers brought 16s 7u, Jy I wethers 14s 7d, 26 fat ewes 11s od, | 162 forward wethers 14s Bd, i 0 lambs I in forward condition Bs, 247 ewes in 1 good condition 12s sd, 1000 hunhs 8s 3d. Cattle: Few cattle were yarded, hut the market was dull. Two lor-I ward cows sold at 00s, 1 springer 62s I 6d, 5 heifers 355. ~ I Messrs. Williams and Kettle, Mur- I ray, Roberts and Co., and the N.A. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company commenced to sell at Jl.oU. Ovor 2300 sheep came forward, the majority being lambs. The sale was fairly brisk throughout, only a lew pens being passed in. Lambs wore in good demand and brought satisfactory prices. There was fair competition for all classes and those passed in were sold at the close of the sale. The following were the prices: lew woolly lambs 9s lOd, J. M- Gould smith; 245 lambs 9s Gd, same buyer; 194 fat ewes and wethers los, Nelson Bros.; 67 small woolly lambs, 7s 6d, T J Thomas; 65 mixed lambs os, JJ. | Malone; 87 lambs Bs, same buyer; 4/ ewes and wethers 12s 5d J. Russel ; 44 forward ewes 12s 2d, J. Maynard . | 79 two-tooth ewes 13s; Barker Bros ; 42 forward wethers 14s 4d, JutU Bros.; 31 do. 14s, J. Maynard; 48 lambs 10s 7d, J. M. Gouldsmith. Cattle: There was a small yarding of cattle, but there was little or no demand. Tlie young stock and a few old cows changed owners, hut the rest were passed in. Hollvwood; 5 steers, forward in com dition, £5 ss, IV. E. Stephenson; . forward steers £4 17s 6d, Stephenson • 17 woaners 235, Erickson; 6 young heifers 255, Erickson; 9 weaners 12s. Russell; 7 do. 10s, C. Gibson. Pi<rs: A few pigs were ottered. Baconers brought 38s, and weaners 10s. , , A number of unbroken horses weio offered, and were all sold at prices ranging from £7. to £l4 10s.

LONDON, April 24. At the Antwern wool sales there was a fair attendance. Buyers were undecided and bidding was inanimate. Crossbred wools wore unchanged, and merinos showed a pato 5 centimes decline. There were 1959 bales of La Plata offered am 323 sold. At the tallow sales 1 1 34 casks wore offered and 882 sold. Mutton, fine is at 36s 3d, medium 33s 6d; beef, fine' 35s 3d, medium 32s Gd.
