HOCKEY.
The meeting of the various appointees selected by the recent annual meeting of hockey players was held in the Royal Hotel last evening, there being present Messrs J. Martin (chair), Lewis, Olsen, AYilson, AVillock, Hanson, and Sargisson. By their report it was found that only two clubs could be formed. This was found to be unsatisfactory in the interests of hockey, as it would not help to further the sport. A discussion then took place, which resulted in the names of 24 players being divided into four sections, these players being asked in the endeavor to further the game to form clubs and appoint delegates to attend the annual Association meeting, to he held in the Royal Hotel on Monday, 29th inst. The following are the selections:—No. I—Messrs Sargisson. Lewis, Martin, AYilson, Friar, and Armstrong; No. 2—Glover, Roderick, Olsen, McLaclilan, Rice, and Hooper; No. 3—AYi Friday, Brown, Bushnoll, Allen, Hamilton, and Tanner; No. 4—-Garrett, Bright. Grant, Willook, Hansen, and AA’oodward. It
