It promises to he a splendid success, and I shall deem it an honor t > he your Mayor when the work is completed. With this out of the way other pressing wants must he attended to, particularly that of DRAINAGE. I am strongly of opinion that this must follow the introduction of the. Water Supply. Gishorne must keep up with the times, and the Drainage question must he faced. With regard to the OUTER HARBOR SCHEME, 1 am emphatically in favor of this, and if the passage of an Enabling Bill in the coming, session of Parliament will give the ratepayers an earlier opportunity of voting upon this scheme than otherwise, the Bill will have my hearty support. In asking the Burgesses for a renewal of their confidence in me, I do with the hope that my actions in the past have given satisfaction to you. I await the Election Day with every confidence. ~ J.
