STRUCK OFF THE ROLL. Press Association. XX’ELLINGTON, yesterday. The Appeal Court this morning heard an application for striking off the roll Harry Francis and Francis Henry Bruges, solicitors. The former, who practised in Christchurch, had pleaded guilty to several charges of theft, and in January last was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment. There was no appearance for j)risoner, and the motion was made with costs. Bruges also practised in Christchurch, and with bis managing clerk, Goodman, was convicted of the theft of certain trust funds. Goodman was sentenced to two years. Bruges applied for a new trial on the ground that tho verdict was against the weight of evidence. Tho application was granted, and at the new trial he was acquitted. After argument Bruges was struck off the roll.
