BLANCHE ARRAL.
The two concerts given by Blanche Arral in the Exhibition concert hall are said to havt been the greatest musical treat ever recorded in the history of Australasia. The hall was tilled to its utmost capacity before the concert started, and hundreds congregated at all the doors and outside the building to listen to the divine melody which poured forth from the lips of the grarious Diva who sings with the same delicious enjoyment as a nightingale soaring in the heavens. Her whole soul is in her music, and she is the embodiment of all that makes music beautiful. Of the first concert the Lvttelton Times of April 4th says:—‘ The audience seen in the building, and the concert was one of the largcvt that has been the best of any musical treats that have been provided for patrons of the Exhibition.” The Christchurch Press in tho same connection says:—
“One of the most notable events in connection with the Exhibition Orchestra was undoubtedly the association with it last night with Madame Blanche Arral. The combination, affording as it did an opportunity of hearing opera excerpts under circumstances as nearly approaching to grand opera as was possible, was a magnificent one. Thore was a very largo and enthusiastic audience, the hall being filled.”
