GISBORNE RIFLES.
ANNUAL AIEETING. The annual meeting of the Gisborne Rifles was held in Townloy’s Hall last night, Captain Beere presiding. Tho balance-sheet, which was adopted, showed that cash in hand and in the bank totalled £4B 12s Id, and that there was a balance of assets over liabilities ol £258 9s Bd.
The following shooting committee was elected :—Lance-Corporal ltait (secretary), Sergeant Scott, Sergeant Somerville, Corporal Breingan, Private Hingston, and Private Hyam. It was decided to hold tho annual social on a date to be fixed by the ontortaiument committee. Col.-Sergeant Alackerras was elected secretary. The following entertainment committee was elected: Scrgt. Scott, Sergt. Somerville, Corp. Breingan, Corp. Holmes, and Lance-Corporal Rait. " A smoke concert is to bo held at an early date, at which tlio prizes won during tlio year will be presented. It was announced that competitions for sergeants would be held in Juno. A'otes of thanks were passed to the captain; to Lance-Corporal Rait, secretary .of tho shooting committee; to Staff Sergt.-Alajor AA’illiams; to the Quartermaster; to the donors of shooting prizes, and to tlio press.
