Most people regard death as inevitable, and will readily allow :that it is .impossible to say at what moment we will be called away 'from this world; but ;r sudden death while a person is apparently enjoying the best of health, and especially when, the person affected is engaged in passing tile fleeting hours in .pleasure, never fails to spread horror and consternation not only among the person’s immediate relatives, but among the whole of those who are n itnesses of the sad event, and (perhaps to a lesser degree), among the whole of the members of the. community. Such a sad event occurred at AVhatatutu last night. A dance was being held, and there was a Edoq number of residents present. Abom 10 o’clock, during the progress ol :i dance Mrs Mark Mooney (Waimarie) without the slightest warning fanned. Mrs. Mooney was at once Litt-o outside, and, to the horror of tliu'o who .attended her, was found to lo stone dead. Mrs. Mooney was very Well known in the district, having been a resident for many veals. An inquest is to he hep] to-day.
