The Khedive informed a French journalist that Egyptians were highly intelligent and quite capable of managing their own concerns. lie denied that national claims had assumed the form of an anti foreign fanatical movement. He repudiated an.v desire to become a despot. Ho declared that Egyptians were very fond of .French, and hoped they would come in large numbers despite the entente with Britain.
TINNED MEAT CONTRACT. BONBON. March 23. The AA'nr OlUco is inviting tenders before loth July for the supply of half a million pounds of tinned beef and mutton, to bo replaced annually until 1910.
