Smith, late of the Defence Depart- | llient, has been appointed general or- | ganiscr to the National League of | New Zealand, and takes up duties immediately. ! Air. Gray, station-master at Te Karaka, is at present, on annual leave and intends visiting the Exhibition. Air. G. Bluckmore, relieving officer of flic AVcllington-Ncw Plymouth section, will he in charge in the meantime.
The Rev. A. Gamble, organising secretary of the Church Missionary Society, who is at present on- a short visit to Gisborne, conducted both services at the Holy Trinity Church on Sunday. He is to be present at the meeting of the Gleaner’s Union to he held at Te Rail College this evening. In the polo tournament at Hastings, yesterday, Air. A. Williams, captain of the AVaipiro Club, had his shoulder dislocated, and an arm broken. The accident was caused through .the stumbling of the same pony as was ridden by Air. Earl AA illiams, when the latter was injured last week, and it was as substitute for the latter that Air. A. AA’i Ilia ins was playing for AVellington B,
