The Native Land Commission continued its sitting ou Saturday, when attention was directed to tlie following blocks: Mareaokowliai, 54,000 acres; Ranana, 3100 acres; Ngorakau Whakarara, 49,905 acres. Mr.' Ngata: -The natives here seem to have lost their self- respect. Sir Robert Stout: The natives here are the first I have met who do not think it is tlieir duty to preserve their race. The only way they can do that is by training their young people to be industrious. The race that is not trained in industry is dead. It will be swept off the face of tho'earth

Most of the witnesses lamented the delay in dealing with the land occasioned by the absence of tho Native Land Court from Wanganui. His Honor remarked that this had been a blessing to tho natives.
