FATAL ACCIDENT.
COM MERCIA L TRAVELLER THROWN FROM HORSE.
Another fatality through falling from a liorso occurred last night, thus making the third fatal accident of the kind within about a fortnight. Tho victim in this case was Mr Sharp, tho well-known traveller for tho Phoenix Works, Dunedin.
Only meagre particulars were obtainable last night, but reports state that Mr Sharp in tho evening hired a horse from Mr T. Quinn’s stables, and when near Mr Bruce’s store at Waiohika, tho horse took fright at something and bolted, colliding with a vehicle, in which Mr Muir was driving, the result being that Mr Sharp was thrown violently on to his head, and became unconscious. He was brought into tho Hospital by Mr Muir, Dr. Morrison having in the meantime been rung up. The patient arrived at the Hospital at 7.15 p.in., but there was no hope of recovery, the skull being fractured, and at nine o’clock ho died.
Mr Sharp is understood to be a married man, his wife and family residing in Dunedin.
