MATAWHERO STOCK SALES. At tho usual weekly stock sales at Matawhero yesterday tlioroo was an average attendance, a Waikato buyer being among the number. 15,000 sheep yarded, which included SHEEP. There was brisk competition for the all classes and conditions, nearly tho wholo being sold under tho hammor. Serviceable owes wore in good demand, bringing from 7s to 9s 3d, a number of this class being knocked down to tho visitor from the Waikato. Tlioro was also a good demand for growing sheep. Two-tooth wethers brought from Ills 8d to 14s 4d, and 2-tooth ewes from 11s Id to 12s 6d. Following aro prices obtained :

The entry of over'7oo head of cattle which came forward comprised 2 1 to 3-yoar-old steers and heifers, and some good beef and a few weaners. At tho opening the sale was not brisk, but most of the steers changed hands, though there was very little sale for other classes. Towards the close tho market became very dull. At the wool auctions there was a spirited sale for all descriptions of wool at the highest prices of the series. At the tallow sales 800 casks were offered and 400 sold. Press Association. NAPIER, yesterday. The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company to-day cabled the following report on the frozen meat market: Values continue to decline. Lamb has fallen a farthing since last quotations. Canterbury mutton 4 1-8, Napier, Wellington, and North Island 3Jd, lamb first quality sd, second 4sd; beef, hinds 3 3-8, fores 2Jd.
