The Rev. C. E. Fox, one of the masters of the Melanesian College at Norfolk Island, who has been on a visit to Gisborne, proceeded to Auckland by the Manuka on Saturday morning. Prior to leaving the Hastings branch of Messrs AAUlliams and Kettle, to join the Gisborne office, Mr J. IT. Miller was jiresented by the staff with a handsome Morocco bound writing case, as a token of the esteem in which lie was held by , the Hastings staff. Mr J. Townloy arrived back from his visit to the Exhibition by the. Manuka on Saturday' morning. Mr J. A. Caesar was a passenger from the South by the Manuka on Saturday morning. Air Trank Bridges, one time of the Gisborne post office staff, lias been re-transferred here from AAhinganui, u here he has been for the last three years. Although glad to see old faces, 110 left AA’anganui not without regret. Dr. AA ill in ms returned on Saturday morning from a visit to Napier. Dr. ALilintino, of the Health Department, arrived in Gisborne yesterday afternoon. Colonel Kettle, officer commanding the Hawke’s Bay district, who inspected the local volunteers last Friday, returned to Napier last evening.
