"Writing on the prospects of the cheese market, a recent Mercantile Gazette says: —“The jiosition as regards cheese is satisfactory. The output has increased, and the market displays unusual strength. The cheese market owes its firmness in a measure to the shocking revelations of the canned meat trade of Chicago which were made public in July last. In the industrial centres, especially in Glasgow, a slice of canned meat was a favorie purchase of the workers for their mid-day meal, but now cheese takes the place of meat, and the retail price of cheese has in consequence advanced. The imports of cheese into tho United Kingdom last year aggregated 2,638,776 cwt. as against 2,442,682 cwt. in 1905, showing the very substantial increase of 9805. The" high price now ruling will further stimulate production, and as it is most likely that canned meat will regain the favor of consumers, we may look for a substantial decline in the value of cheese next season.

Aged persons are peculiarly benefited by Stearns’ "Wine as it possesses the stimulating properties of mellow aid wine in addition to its value as a body builder and strength renewer. >|-Advt.
