CRICKET.
The match Union against Common, Sholton and Co. took place yesterday afternoon. • Lang, winning the toss, went to the wicket with Grant, to the bowling of Brown and Dr. Collins. After batting well for 16, Grant was bowled by Brown. Lang 16, Pollock 16, McLachlin. 14, and Witty (not out) 10, also batted well, the total reached being 95. Common, Shelton and Co. started none too well, Roderick boing, bowled by O’Hara for 7. Gibson and IslierwOod then made a good stand until Isherwood was caught for a well-played 23. Gibson played a good innings for 48, when he was also caught, the' total reached being 114, thus winning the match by 19 runs. The fielding was not too good, especially that of Union, who threw away a lot of runs. Following are details of the scores: — UNION. J.
