Messrs Williams and Kettle report: There was a huge attendance and a full yarding, and on the whole tlio salo was a most satisfactory one to both buyers and sellers. All through wethers wore in increased demand, and wore probably Gd per head over last week’s sales. Tho same applied to owes of good quality, but on tlio otlior hand cull lambs and old ewes woro in very poor demand, and though ovory lino was cleared under tho hammer prices in this direction suffered somewhat. Cattle throughout showed some sign of improvement, several good lilies of steers being quitted at figures in advance of everything at recent sales. The offering in beef was small and chiefly confined to fat cows which made from £4 10s to £5 per head. There wore a few pens of rams, which for good quality sold up to four guineas for good Lincolns and Romnoys, with no domand for Shropshires. We have a very largo entry for our next sale, to bo held on Thursday, 21st inst., for which wo have coming forward a very special lino of 200 head of well-bred cattle, consisting principally of three and four-year-old shorthorn steers, and a very choice line of a few hundred head of threo-yoar-old well-bred shorthorn heifers in calf. Those lines should attract considerable attention, as nothing like them has beon offered in the yards for a considerable period.
