MINISTER’S CAUTIOUS REPLY. Press Association WELLINGTON, last night. On his return from the South tho Minister for Labor, the Hon. J. A. .Millar, was asked if Government 1 proposed doing anything in the way of amending the Arbitration Act so as to provide against agreements being invalidated through moro technical informalities. Mr Miller replied that he did not eare to say anything about the matter at present, as he might be called upon to deal with it officially at an early date.

It is stated in reliable qunrtors that New Zealand is not likely to participate in any army contracts for the supply of tinned meat's for the Imperial troops. It is thought the available supply of tinned meats is too small to come up to the minimum requirements of tho AVar Office.
