HOSPITAL TRUSTÈES

A meeting of tlio Hospital Trustees was held last evening at the Hospital. Present: Alcssrs Harding (in the chair), F. J. Lysnar, Kenway, and Alatthows. One more member was required to make a quorum. After waiting half-an-liour Air Harding was voted to the chair, and the routino business proceeded with. There being still no quorum, tho special and important business could not be touched. The House report was as follows: Remaining from last fnonth 22, admitted since 13, total 35; discharged 11, died 3, remaining at date 21. The Treasurer’s monthly report stated that the receipts to the Ist hist amounted to £773 12s id, and the expenditure to £t>39 11s Bd, leaving a balance in the hank to tho credit of the Trustees of £234 Os 11 Ti, c secretary presented a list of persons owing fees to the Hospital. The sum owing amounted to about £9OO. The chairman suggested that the list be placed in the hands of a collector. Mr Lysnar said there were many persons on the list who were in a position to pay. They were able-bodied men and in good billets. It was resolved to leave the matter in the hands of Air. Harding ancl the secretary to obtain a collector to collect the money. Messrs Harding and ICenway were appointed visitors to the Hospital for the ensuing month. Air. Alattliews said it seemed a great pity that they, should bo without a quorum at so important a meeting. There was no excuse for it. It was a most unsatisfactory state of affairs. Afr. Kenway: Can we adjourn till to-morrow ? Tho Secretary: The by-law says that a meeting must be adjourned to the same time and place soveii days hence.

The Secretary: You can hold a fresh meeting to-morrow, but not an adjourned meeting. The members decided to hold a meeting to-day at the . Secretary’s office at 11 a.in.
