Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, last night; Stratford defeated New Plymouth to-day in the final of the Taranaki Bowling Association Tourney. GISBORNE CLUB. An enjoyable afternoon was spent on. tho Gisborne Club’s green yesterday afternoon, and some interesting games were played, as follows: HANDICAP PAIRS. Clarkson and Craig (32) defeated Oman and Nicholas (28). J. Adair and F. Martin (18) defeated Cussen and Ambridgo (13). FOURS. R. Craw-ford, AV. Morgan, F. Pettie, and T. A. Crawford (18) v. G. Entries closed yesterday afternoon for the Handicap singles, and tho largest number of entries (42) ever received by the Club was the outcome, and for the championship singles 23 entered. CHAMPION SINGLES. The following are the entries: Robertson, T. A. Crawford, W. : Pettie, Hennessy, Williams, Redstone F. Pettio, Craig, Anderson, AVitty, Ponsford, F. Martin, Harding, O’Meara, Harris, Gaudin, J, and Simson. TURANGANUI CLUB., The above club’s green was well patronised yesterday afternoon, some splendid games being played. Much interest was evoked in the concluding match of the first round in the Handicap Pairs, and also in a challenge singles match.. The results were: HANDICAP PAIRS. McSkimming and Skeet (skip) 25 v. Hird and Bennett (skip) 23. In this match Hallam acted as substitute for Skeet. The sixth head showed 5 all, while on the 10th head Hird and Bennett w-ere 12 to 6. On tho 16th head the scores were again level —l6 all, and the last head saw the game again even with 23 apiece. McSkimming and Skeet receiving a handicap of 2 points, thus won by that margin. CHALLENGE MATCH. Nasmith, jun. 1G v. Saw-yer ID. — This was a splendid game. The scores were 5 all on the Bth head, and 8 all on the 14th head, when Nasmith drew away. OTHER GAMES. Devery and Nasmith, jun. (skip) 16 v. Neill and Martin (skip) 8; Skillicom, Earie, Nasmith (skip) 25 v. Joyce, Birrell, Morse (skill)' 15; Devery, Matthewson, Hepburn (sk.) 23 v.
