THE HOLIDAYS.
POST AND TELEGRAPH DJEPABTMENT. Postal branch.—Tuesdays, the 25th December aud Ist January (Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) will be observed as close holidays. On Wednesday, the 2Gth inst. (Boxing Day) tho post offics will be open in all its branches, excepting money order and savings bank, from 9 am. to 10 am. Receivers and posting boxes will be clearod on the evenings of Mondays tho 24th and 31st inst. Mails usually despatched on Tuesdays the 25th December and Ist January will close .at 7.30 p.m. on Mondays the 24‘h and 31st mst. On Boxing Day, the 26th inst, the usual despatch of mails up to 8 a.m. will be made. Posting boxes and receivers clearod accordingly. On Monday evenings the 24th and 31at inst., a delivery of town letters (including registered' will be made between 7 and 8 p.m. at the post office wicket.
Telegraph office. On Tuesday (Christmas Day) Sunday hours will be observed, vie., 930 to 10 a.m., and 5 to 5.30 p.m. On Wednesday (Boxing Day), and Tuesday (New Year’s Day) the office will be open from 9 am. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight. Telephone exchange will observe special hours on Day, viz , 9 a.m. to 10 a.m, only. On Boxing Day and New Year’s Day continuous attendance as usual from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
