THE HOLIDAYS.

POST AND TELEGRAPH DEPARTMENT.

Postal branch. —Tuesdays, the 25th December aud Ist January (Christmas 14ay and New Year’s Day) will be observed as close holidays. On Wednesday, the 26th mst. (Boxing Day) the post office will b 9 open in all its branches, excepting money order and savings bank, from 9 a.m. to 10 a m. Receivers and posting boxes will be cleared on the evenings of Mondays the 24th and 31st inst. Mails usually despatched on Tuesdays the 25th December and Ist January will close at 7.30 p.in. on Mondays the 24th and 31st inst. On Boxing Day, the 26th inst, tho usual despatch of mails up to 8 a.m. will be made. Posting boxes and receivers cleared accordingly. On Monday evenings the 24th and 31st inst., a delivery of town letters (including registered; will be made between 7 und 8 p.m. at the post office wicket.

Telegraph office. —On Tuesday Day) Sunday hours will be observed, viz., 9.30 to 10 a.m., and 5 to 5.30 p.m. On Wednesday (Boxing Day), and Tuesday (New Year’s Day) the office will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight. Telephone exchange will observe special hours on Christmas Day, viz , 9 a.m. to 10 a.m, only. On Boxing Day and New Year’s Day continuous attendance as usual from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
