MINISTERS AT THAMES.
TRESS ASSOCIATION Thames, last night. Mr Millar, Minister of Marine, arrived at the Thames to-day, also Mr MoGowan, Minister for Mines. Several deputations waited on the former. The various matters of looal interest discussed were vesting the '|j foreshore aod wharves in the Thames Harbor Board, dopositiDg debris from the flax mills in the river?, restriction of trawlers and exclusion from ihe Hauraki , ’ Gaif, stalling fish on Fiako flats, and con* fiscitiou of fishing material for alleged offenooa beforo an offence is proved. The Minister said a local bill would require to be introduced to exieud the jurisdiction of tire Board, He promised to go into other -y matters. He came to a satisfactory arrangement re trawling limit?. Mr Millar created a favorable impression, and went into all masters thoroughly, Auckland, last night. The Hon. Millar returned to town from tho Thames to-night. He visits the Kai- v para next week, and will probably return to Wellington about the end of Ihe week. The Hon. J. McGowan is remaining at Themes for a few days.
