tions iu regard to rates of pay. The award divides steamers into two classes —"A,” passenger ; “ B,” cargo. It iu.thor divides them into four classes, according to ton* nago. Paymasters for Ohms “A ” rangeß from £2l to £34 por monih on a tonnage basis; chief officers from £ls to JGI7; second offiosrs £l2 to £l4 ; third officers £lO to £ll, la Class “B ” masters range from £2l to £3l; chief officers, all £ls ; second officers £l2; third officers £lO. Tho pay of fourth and fifth officers of all ships is £B. Tho award comes into operation on tho first of January, and remains operative for three years.
