The beet totals for the week were : Miss J. Mills’ rose-combed brown Leghorns, 32; W. Stalker’s silver Wyandottes, 31; Allan Petris’esilver Wyandottes, 30. Toe highest totals to date are: M. Blanch 698, J, Ashton (silver Wyandottes) 640, F. O'Brien (silver Wyandot l e?) 696.
Dunedin, last night.
A representative meeting of eitizsns was held to-day for the purpose of organising a publio reception to Sir J. G. Ward in Dunedin prior to his departure for the Colonial Oonferenoa. A committee was appointed to make arrangements. , Wanganui, last night.
Sir Joseph Ward to-day unveiled a monument erected to the memory of troopers from this district who fell in South Africa, Sir Joseph’s remarks were non-political. In the evening he / was waited on by a number of deputations. He leaves for Napier in the morning.
