HON. G. McLEAN’S RETIREMENT PRESS ASSOCIATION Dunedin, last night. The annual meetmg'of the Union S.S, Company was held to-day. The directors'
report recommended a dividend of 4 per cent for the half year, making 8 per cent for the year, and a bonus of 2 per cent from the insurance fund, The report and balance sheet were adopted. The Hon. G. McLean, who has occupied the Chairmanship of Directors from an early period of the Company’s existence, did not seek reflection, as he announced at last meeting, in view of a visit about to be paid to Britain by himself and family. Mr Mills, Managing Director, spoke in appreciative terms of Mr McLean’s valuable services, and read a resolution of the directors, placing on record the director’s sense of the value of the services ren< derod by him. Captain Cameron, marine superintendent, who has just returned from the Home country, was elected to fill the vacancy on the Board.
